Beauties and the Bog are a team of fell running women based in Sheffield, UK, close to the Peak District National Park. Originally formed as a team for the High Peak Marathon, our adventures began when training for this 42-mile, overnight fell race. We made a film about our training journey, which got into the official selection of the 2017 Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF). You can watch our film below, and browse the rest of our website for our favourite running routes, a running blog including race reports, running tips and other adventures the Bog Beauties have been up to!
Dragons in Training
Lisa and Bodil have signed up for the 2019 infamous Dragon’s Back race. This 5-day mountain race navigates across the spine of Wales for 315 km, with a mere 15,500 m of ascent. In the upcoming year you can follow our journey as ‘Dragons in Training’!
Libby and Lisa completed their self-propelled, continuous round of all 282 Munros this summer in 77 days, setting a new fastest-known female time! Check out the Munro Round 2017 page for more details and sponsor their effort here.
Bodil has been trail running in the US and has completed an unsupported run along the epic 50mile Zion traverse route in Utah. Blog post coming soon!

High Peak Marathon 2017
* UPDATE * After 12 hrs 45 mins of running, we finished the High Peak Marathon on Saturday 4th of March, 2017 at noon. We were super happy & also a little sad it was over. Read our race report here
Our adventures started when training for HPM 2016, and since bad weather cancelled 2016’s race, we still have unfinished business with this event. On Friday 3rd of March 11:13 pm we will set off for our 42 mile adventure over the moorlands of the Peak District. We expect (hope!) to finish in Edale on Saturday around 1 pm, if you are interested in coming along!
